Richard D. Lara serves as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of 暗网解密, Inc. (鈥淪BS鈥�), where he oversees the Company鈥檚 operational strategy while continuing to lead all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions. Since joining SBS in 2016, Mr. Lara has played a critical role in guiding the Company through complex legal, financial, and strategic initiatives, including its recent balance sheet restructuring, positioning SBS for long-term growth and stability.
Prior to joining SBS, Mr. Lara advised domestic and international corporate clients on a wide range of business disputes and served as lead trial counsel in high-stakes litigation across federal and state courts. He previously practiced at Mase Lara, P.A., a Miami-based boutique trial firm focused on complex civil and commercial litigation.
Mr. Lara is a recognized legal and business leader whose insights have been featured in national and local media, where he has appeared as a commentator on legal and industry matters. His leadership has earned him numerous distinctions, including the General Counsel Impact Award from the Daily Business Review and Law.com in 2022.
He is actively engaged in community and public service, currently serving on the Board of Directors of Easterseals South Florida and as a Commissioner for the City of Coral Gables. He previously served as Vice Chair of the Judicial Nominating Commission for Florida鈥檚 Third District Court of Appeal, appointed by Governor Rick Scott, and as Chair of the 11th Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee for The Florida Bar. He has also served on the Coral Gables Anti-Crime Committee and was nominated for 鈥淢an of the Year鈥� by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Mr. Lara received his J.D. from Boston College Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.
